This is an excellent, hand woven flat weave rug by master weaver Pedro Gutierrez. The rug was made using 100% soft, fine, hand spun yarns in a beautiful Third Phase Chief's Relampago pattern. The rug was hand woven with a tight weave using 100% hand spun wool yarns that offer natural variegation and durability with color fast aniline dyes. The rug shows a phenomenal Third Phase Chief's Relampago pattern in the time-honored Zapotec, multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Pedro Gutierrez. This incredible example shows Pedro's traditional interpretation of the Third Phase Chief's Relampago blanket with rich banded diamonds symmetrically throughout the rug, diamond decorations in an earth brown field, accentuating blue and dark brown diamonds, and cream arrow dynamics set before the border of the rug shown in dark brown. The rug shows a quadruple braided, light brown and black wool tassel construction. The piece is brand new, in pristine condition, with a fine, tight weave. The rug measures 5’ by 4’ (5 foot by 4 foot).
