Featured in this lot is this Tiffany & Co. Abraham Lincoln Memorial brass buckle. The buckle features a wonderfully and professionally crafted brass construction that shows a portrait profile of Abraham Lincoln with rifles with the bayonets and splayed flags in the backdrop and a cannon to the left with the inscription on the front reading: In Memory of our Dear President. The back of the buckle is inscribed with: The Official Funeral Plate No. ___ - Issued to all United States Congressman Washington D.C. - Made form captured heavy confederate guns - Designed by William R. Leigh made by W.H. Horstmann - Official Design Approved by Mrs. A. Lincoln. (This buckle is identified on the Tiffany & Co. list through an online list even though it is not marked with the Tiffany & Co. hallmark.) The condition of this Tiffany & Co. brass buckle is good with a slight patina to the buckle but otherwise shows a good overall condition. The measurements of this buckle is 2 7/8" x 3 3/4" x 3/8". The collective weight of this buckle is 209g.
