Featured in this lot is this Tombstone, Arizona Territory receipts from L.W. Blinn Lumber Company circa 1883 and displayed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. There are two receipts in this collection for goods and delivery services rendered one for Santa Rosa Managment Co. and the other bought by Cochise County. L.W. Blinn Lumber Co. played a vital role in the development of Tombstone, Arizona, during the 1880s, supplying essential building materials to support the town's rapid growth during the silver boom. As the demand for homes, businesses, and mining infrastructure surged, Blinn’s company provided the lumber needed to construct everything from saloons and boarding houses to mine supports and civic buildings. Operating a lumberyard in Tombstone and sourcing timber from regional forests, the company became a backbone of the town’s physical expansion. Its presence underscored the logistical challenges of building a frontier city in the desert and highlighted how essential such supply firms were to Tombstone's transformation from a mining camp into a bustling urban center. The condition of this of this pair of L.W. Blinn receipts is well preserved with one still including its original envelope they show browning to the pages consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of each receipt is 7 1/8" x 8 1/2" and 7" x 7 1/2".
