Featured in this lot is this Tombstone, A.T.: Salary Ledger page during the gunfight trial and includes Virgil Earp's ledger listing for his final payment as city marshal in 1881; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The ledger page includes a list of prominent citizens in Tombstone, A.T. confirming that James Flynn was acting Chief of Police during the trial of the Earp men and includes a salary for Virgil Earp during this time also. Bob Hatch was a colorful character and an amateur thespian. It was said he kept a jar of frogs on the counter as their croaking helped him predict the weather. He followed the Earps to the famous gunfight, assisted in removing the gun from dying Billy Clanton's hand, and testified at the hearing; Hatch was also listed in this ledger. Notorious G.F. Spangenberg is also listed, as a gunsmith in Tombstone he supplied both the Earp men and the Cochise County Cowboy's with weapons and ammunition during this time of the gunfight at O.K. Corral and the aftermath of the gunfight. This is a timeless piece of Tombstone history piecing together the puzzle of what happened during this time of 1881. The ledger comes complete with an original museum tag that reads as follows: Virgil Earp's last pay as City Marshal. The condition of this Tombstone, A.T. Salary Roster is well preserved with a tear to one of the bottom corners and browning to the page consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this ledge page is 18 1/2" x 12".
