Featured in this lot is this Tombstone, Arizona: signed receipt Spangenberg circa 1882; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. This is a receipt from April 7th, 1882 from G.F. Spangenberg: Pioneer Gun and Locksmith Wholesale and Retail Dealer for 3 canisters of black powder for $15.90. The receipt comes complete with a advertisement card that would have been handed out during a parade or fair advertising his Gun Shop on 212 Fourth Street, near Brown's Hotel. G.F. Spangenberg was a gunsmith in Tombstone, Arizona, who served both Wyatt Earp and the "Cattlemen" gang involved in the OK Corral shootout. The G.F. Spangenberg gun shop, located at 21 South 4th Street, was established around 1880. Today, there is a modern gun shop in Tombstone bearing the name "G.F. Spangenberg," but it is a separate entity with no direct historical connection to the original gunsmith. The condition of this Spangenberg receipt and advertisement is well preserved with some slight fading to the receipt but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this receipt is 7" x 8 1/2" and the advertisement measures 2 1/2" x 4 1/2". D86
