Featured in this lot is this collection of three city license's two dated the same year before and after the day of the gunfight at the O.K. Corral from Tombstone, Cochise Co., A.T. circa 1881 and 1898; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. There are three Tombstone City License's in this collection. The first is a handwritten city license from Territory of Arizona, County of Cochise for S. Alexander for a merchant license dated Dec 2nd, 1881 signed by S. Alexander and signed by the public notary at the bottom; this city license was signed into effect just a couple of months after the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. The second is a City License from the City Auditor's Office and dated July 23rd, 1881 and signed by then Mayor John Clum with his signature shown at the bottom right hand corner; this license was signed into effect months before the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. The last city license is from the License Tax Collector's Office dated Feb 1st, 1898 and received from Augustine for $4.00 and signed by the city clerk James Duncan with his signature shown in the bottom left hand corner. The condition of this collection of Tombstone City License's is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage to the license's and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of these license's ranges from 4 1/8" x 7 3/8" to 4 3/4" x 8". D222, TT193
