The Tombstone Daily Nugget was sympathetic to the Cochise County Cowboys, who according to the San Francisco Examiner, were “the most reckless class of outlaws in that wild country—infinitely worse than the ordinary robber.” Also called the Daily Nugget, the paper was published by H. M. Woods & Company from 1880 to 1882, it was the CNN of the Old Southwest and Woods was sympathetic with the Cowboys. Members of the Cowboys were involved in the Gunfight at the O.K.
