Featured in this lot is this Torajans tribal, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, water buffalo horn horse carving from circa 1920's. The piece features a fantastic inlaid water buffalo bone sculpture of a prancing horse. The horse features triangular inlaid pieces of bone, showing fantastic construction and a saddle; the harness is adorned with brass implements decorated with translucent red, medium green, and multi colored brown glass cabochons. The sculpture is mounted on a black painted shield. The condition of this inlaid horse is good, showing no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this water buffalo bone horse are 25 1/4" x 32" x 10".
