Featured in this lot is this Turf Saloon photo and free drink token from The Turf Saloon in Tombstone, Arizona Territory in 1895, as well as another bar photo. The Turf Saloon was a well know establishment in Tombstone, particularly known for its gambling. The photo shows five men in the bar, three are drinking while two bartenders tend to the men. One is cleaning glasses while the other is grabbing a bottle off the bar top. The three men drinking pose for the photo while leaning on the bar top. The Turf Saloon token is marked reading, "Turf Saloon / A. Giacoma Prop. / Good For One Drink". The second photo is an unnamed and unmarked bar, but attributed to the Tombstone community. This photo shows nine men in the bar. Two of them are bartenders, one is holding a broom closer to the middle of the floor, while the other six are drinking and leaning on the bar top. Decorations and American flags can be seen posted around the bar. Both photos and the token show good condition overall with wear present from their age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage is noted. The visible photos measure 5 1/8" L x 7" W, while the entire piece measures 6 7/8" L x 9" W. The token is set in a coin sleeve and measures 3/4" L x 3/4" W.
