Presented in this lot are Two (2) Puebloan Silver Bolo Ties, circa mid 1900s. The bolo tie is a classic western accessory, recognizable for its two decorative ends connected by a thin cord. It was created in the 1930s by Native American tribal silversmiths in Arizona and New Mexico. Both have braided black leather cords. The first bolo features a Gambel's Quail with inlaid stones of Mother of Pearl, Turquoise, shell, and branch coral, standing in silver "brush" as is common in the southwestern United States, mainly Arizona. The black braided cord bolo tips are finished with silver balls. The second bolo features a bezel set large Stormy Mountain Turquoise cabochon, the adjoining feathers design also surrounded by silver balls. Bolo tips have hollow silver beads. First bolo measures 18.5"L, second 19.25"L.
