Available for your consideration is a large aqua blue Japanese Glass Fishing Float, with a smaller yellow float attatched. These floats were used to give buoyancy to fishing nets, long lines, and drop lines. These fishing buoys originate from as early as the 1840's - Invented by a Norwegian merchant Christopher Faye, and modernized shortly after by Hadeslands Glassverk. The buoys are referred to as "Japanese glass floats" because most all of the remaining glass floats that exist today originate from Japan, and their ever-booming deep sea fishing industry. These floats are believed to originate from the mid-20th century, and shows good condition. There are some tears to the rope netting, and the rope attaching the smaller float appears to be a more modern addition. The larger float measures 8" x 7".
