Available in this lot we have a signed print of Carol Grigg's watercolor painting titled "Blue Silk". Carol Griggs is a self taught Cherokee painter living in southern Oregon and is known for her paintings horses and Native American women primarily in watercolor. This painting depicts a Native American woman wrapped in a large blanket or coat with a section of blue silk cloth on one arm. The figure is shown with feathers and beads decorating her hair with a beaded necklace. The blanket is made out of buffalo hide with a section of fur along the top with the contrasting bolt of light blue silk cloth on one arm and flowing down. The piece is signed in the bottom right hand corner reading "Carol Griggs Blue Silk". The piece shows wonderful impressionistic style with great contrasting colors. The art is set into a custom frame with a metallic finish and a white border around the print. The piece shows good condition overall. The frame measures 35 1/2" wide by 33 3/4" tall with the print measuring 23 3/4" wide by 22" tall.
