For your bidding consideration is this pair of Griswold cast iron Aebleskiver pans. These pans are also commonly called "egg poacher" pans. Aebleskivers (literally "apple slices" in Daish) are traditional Danish pancakes in the shape of a sphere. The pans are round with flat tops and 7 hemispherical batter "cups". The two pans come from different eras in the history of Griswold, as evidenced by the markings on the pan bottoms. The first pan is clearly marked "Griswold, Erie PA; it is further marked No. 32/ 962". This pan was made in the '30's to early '50's. on the bottom of the second pan, "Griswold" is more of a "ghost casting", being barley readable. "Erie PA" doesn't show up at all. In addition to "No. 32/ 962", "Made in USA". In 1957, when Griswold merged with Wagner Ware, manufacturing was shifted to the Wagner plant in Sidney, OH. Cookware made after '57 shows the "Griswold" name being phased out entirely. These pans are in very good condition; with proper cleaning and seasoning before use, you could surprise your family with a fun new-old breakfast food! The pans measure 1 3/4" tall x 9 1/4" in diameter; measuring at the handle, they are 14" long.
