For your bidding pleasure are these Two Steelyard Hanging Balance Beam Scales from the 19th Century. A steelyard balance or Stilyard is a balance with arms of unequal length connected by a straight-beam, and has a counterweight that slides along the longer arm to counterbalance the load and indicate its weight. The steelyard comprises a balance beam which is suspended from a Lever/pivot or fulcrum which is very close to one end of the beam. These balances are in good condition all the measurements are clearly seen and the counterweight slides effortlessly along the shaft. Both balances measure 30" long and the other measures 35" long; and they max weight comes to 150lbs and the others max is shown at 300oz.Each of the scales appears to be complete and hand blacksmith made with each also showing a five pointed star at teh end.
