Featured in this lot is a U.S. Army officer's cavalry saber, circa 1902. The officer's saber shows a wonderfully and professionally crafted etched and tooled design to the flats of the saber. It also shows a basket guard design with a crafted horn handle with finger areas to provide a better grip. The blade is etched or tooled with vivid designs. There is also an eagle with 'E. Pluribus Unum' along with cannon designs, and it is marked on the other side 'U.S.' with an intricate geometric decorations adorning that side as well. The condition of this cavalry saber is good with some oxidation to the sheath denoting some age, but the blade otherwise doesn't show any tarnishing and is in otherwise good overall condition. The measurements of this cavalry saber are 36 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 3 1/8".*
