Featured in this lot are two U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service signs circa early to mid 1900s. The first sign shows a yellow colored base with black lettering reading, "Boundary of Timber Sale". The left of the sign shows the Forest Service logo reading, "U.S. Forest Service Department of Agriculture". It features a mounting hole on each corner for mounting to trees or fences. It shows wear from its age and use outdoors with corrosion and oxidization present throughout. Still in good, readable condition. The second sign shows the same yellow base color and black lettering reading, "Notice / The Area Behind This Sign Is Closed To Sheep Grazing / Do Not Trespass". The bottom left shows small black lettering reading, "Form 985 U.S. Forest Service, while the bottom right shows the Forest Service logo reading, "U.S. Forest Service Department of Agriculture". This signs shows good condition overall with slight wear present such as scratches and slight fading. No oxidization or corrosion present. The signs measure 4" L x 13 7/8" W and 6 7/8" L x 9 7/8" W. They have a collective weight of 6 ounces.
