Featured in this lot is a Blue Sky/ Arlington, VA U.S. M1 carbine semi automatic rifle chambered in 30 caliber. The carbine was manufactured by Inland MFG. Div. General Motors located in Blue Sky/ Arlington Virginia in the mid 1900s during World War II. The rifle displays a 17 3/4" long round barrel, external magazine, walnut stock and upper barrel shroud, and bayonet attachment point. The front of the barrel is marked "Blue Sky/ Arlington, VA Inland MFG. DIV. General Motors 7 - 44". The receiver is marked on the front "U.S. Carbine Cal. 30 M1" with the back marked "Inland Div" and the serial number 5389469. The carbine displays a shoulder carry strap with a groove and bar inserted into the butt of the stock for the strap. The rifle shows good condition overall with some light wear across the wood.
