For your consideration are a U.S. M4 bayonet/ fighting knife and a M8A1 sheath. The M4 bayonet was introduced in 1944 for use with the M1 carbine. It was built on the M3 fighting knife. The blade is made of carbon steel and was either blued or parkerized with a stacked leather handle. The guard is marked across the front reading "US M4 Camillus". The bayonet comes with a M8 bayonet with a canvas frog belt loop. The condition of this bayonet is good, with no obvious signs of damage to the knife or the sheath; it shows good overall working condition. The measurements of this M4 bayonet are 11 1/4" long with the barrel being 6 1/2" long.*
