Lot containing one U.S. issue Model 1917 Bolo knife and one U.S. Model 1898 Krag rifle bayonet scabbard. The Model 1917 Bolo has a very dark aged approx. 10” blade that is marked “U S” over “1917” on the right side ahead of the guard and “Plumb” over “Phila.” on the left side. It has the correct coarse walnut handle, steel mounts and tight fitting canvas with leather reinforced sheath These were used as entrenching tools as well as close combat weapons. The 1898 Springfield Krag rifle bayonet is in exceptional condition with fine walnut handle with steel mounts and guard. The blade is fairly bright and is marked “U.S.” on one side and is dated “1898” on the other. The metal scabbard is in fine condition with the original swivel steel belt hanger intact.
