What a rare find! In this lot is Twenty five (25) sheets of ten (10) post cards uncut. The postcards are of Winod Reiss's Blackfoot Indian works. The images are, Julia-Wades-in-The-Water, Clears Up, Lazy Boy, The Sign Talkers, Tom Dawson, Sundance, Angry Bull, Mountain Flower, Middle Rider, Wade-In-The-Water.
These post cards were made by Olde American Antiques ©1992 Susan Davis Bozeman Montana. The art on the post cards was done by F. Winold Reiss (1886 – 1953). In 1920 he went West for the first time, working for a lengthy period on the Blackfeet Reservation. Over the years Reiss painted more than 250 works depicting Native Americans. He made relationships that he kept for the rest of his life When Reiss passed the Blackfeet spread his ashes along the eastern edge of Glacier National Park. Each of these post cards on the back tell a short story about the person in them. The sheet in whole is 20" x 13" with each postcard measuring 61/2" x 4". These sheets are in very good condition.
