Featured in this lot are these Utah Agatized Jurassic Era Dinosaur Bone fragments circa 200 - 145 million years old. Agatized dinosaur bone (also known as gem dino bone) is the fossilised remains of dinosaur bones in which the original cellular structure has been replaced with natural minerals. The fragments feature wonderfully preserved examples with reddish and reddish-grey colours. The four largest samples have naturally polished smooth and rough textured facets. Two of the fragments are in a triangular prism shape, remaining three have irregular shapes. The individual cells in the center of the fragments are distinct and range in color from white calcite to many shades of brown all the way up to rust orange. Truly impressive paleontological evidence of extinct prehistoric life preserved in geologic context. Smallest piece measures .75" x 1" x 4.25", largest is 1.5" x 4.25" x 6". Collective weight is 4lb, 4oz.
