Featured is this Original First Edition of "Van Gogh The Complete Paintings Two Volumes", by Ingo F. Walther, Rainer Metzger, 1990, publisher Benedikt Tashen, Köln, Germany. Today, the works of Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) are among the most well known and celebrated in the world. In paintings such as Sunflowers, The Starry Night, and Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear, we recognize an artist uniquely dexterous in the representation of texture and mood, light and place. This comprehensive study of Vincent van Gogh offers a complete catalogue of his 871 paintings, alongside writings and essays, charting the life and work of a master who continues to tower over art to this day. Two volumes are contained in a slipcase. There are glazed pictorial boards, with color and black/white illustrations. An original, beautiful red and grey slipcase features the image of one of Van Gogh's 36 self-portraits on the cover is in very nice condition. The text on the slipcase is a regal, red gilt with minimal soiling. Each red cloth bound hardcover volume has a gilt stamped image of one of the painter's paintings and contains the original illustrated paper dust jackets which are in good overall condition. Intact pages appear immaculate with no marring observed. Slipcase measures 13.25"L x 10"W x 3.5"D.*
