Featured in this lot is this Vaquero horseman braided leather bosalita circa 1940's. The bosalita features a wonderfully and professionally crafted braided leather and nylon construction that shows a traditional design for a two rein set up and are used in training horses to step up to a more advanced bit or bridle. A bosalita is a smaller, more refined version of a bosal, which is an essential part of the traditional hackamore used in horse training, particularly in the vaquero and buckaroo traditions of the American West. The bosalita plays a key role in the progression of training a horse from a hackamore to a full bridle. The condition of this bosalita is well preserved with some wear to the braided leather and some dirtying to the nylon rope but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this bosalita is 20 1/2" x 13 1/2" x 4 1/2". The collective weight of this bosalita is 8oz.
