Featured in this lot is this Victorian actress Lotta Crabtree by John Holz cabinet card circa 19th century; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. This cabinet card features a wonderfully and professionally crafted construction that shows the actress Lotta Crabtree posing on a table in a dress with a big hat and reading a magazine. The cabinet card is is marked in the front of the cabinet card as follows: Lotta. Charlotte Mignon "Lotta" Crabtree (November 7, 1847 – September 25, 1924), also known mononymously as Lotta, was an American actress, entertainer, comedian, and philanthropist. Born in New York City and raised in the gold mining hills of Northern California, she rose to fame as a child performer. Crabtree became one of the wealthiest and most beloved American entertainers of the late 19th century. From her beginnings as a 6-year-old until her retirement at age 45, she entertained and was named "The Nation's Darling". Her life story was filmed as Golden Girl (1951), starring Mitzi Gaynor. The condition of this Victorian cabinet card is well preserved with some wear to the cabinet card and browning to the card consistent with the age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition.
