Featured in this lot is a Vintage African Raffia Kuba Cloth Straw Mat Rug. Raffia is a palm tree native to tropical regions of Africa. The fiber is used for making various clothing, accessories, and mats such as this one. The Kuba Kingdom was a pre-colonial kingdom in central Africa. This rug shows earthy yellow, orange, and brown tones, with straw fringe, on a straw mat. The rug is in good condition and measures 31" x 26".
