Featured in this lot is a Vintage Boston Globe Art Supplement Collection, circa 1905-1906. For more than a century, the newspaper trade has had to determine creative ways to prevent a decrease in circulation and to find new subscribers. In the late 1800s, the Sunday edition of newspapers began to carry art supplements, which included parlor prints and toys for kids to cut out and assemble. Art supplements proved an innovative way to build an audience, each week parents read about the next must-have art prints and paper toys in the following week’s newspaper. The eleven (11) chromolithograph art prints featured instructions on how to make a "frame" for the print by folding the borders of the prints. Included are prints of scenes from the American Revolution, Mexican-American War, and The American Civil War. Also included in this lot is the Vintage sheet music "Battle of Gettysburg: March Descriptive, with Color Lithograph of Pickett's Charge" by E. T. Paull, 1917, nine (9) pages. The cover features a painting in colour of a battle in the American Civil War fought by Union and Confederate forces in 1863, in and around Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Includes description and music notes. Published by E.T. Paull Music Co., (1858-1924), a minor American composer, arranger, and sheet music publisher. Lithographed by A. Hoen & Co., Richmond, VA, founded in Baltimore in the mid-1850s by August Hoen. He then relocated his lithographic company to Richmond, Virginia around the 1860's. Prints and sheet music are in nicely preserved condition, slight edge marring noted. Prints measure 10.5"W x 12"L each, sheet music is 10.5"W x 13.75"L
