Featured in this lot is a vintage G.H. Weyer "Platinum" carbon steel straight razor. The blade is marked "PLATINUM CARBON STEEL BLADE REG. U.S. PAT. OFF" on the front and "GEO. H. WEYER KANSAS CITY MO. MADE IN GERMANY 401" on the back. It is a model no. 401 and the blade was manufactured in Solingen Germany. Solingen is called the "City of Blades", since it has long been renowned for the manufacturing of fine swords, knives, scissors and razors made by famous firms. This blade comes with the original box which is marked "GEO. H. WEYER KANSAS CITY MO. / GERMANY / "PLATINUM" CARBON STEEL BLADE REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF." The razor measures 9.25" fully opened and 6" closed. It is in very good overall condition.
