Offered in this lot is an Assortment of signs including a painted P & G Pauli & Griffin Sandblast Pot Bronze pressure vessel certification plate, a painted C. M. & E. Norman Chipper Bronze certification plate, a circa 1813-1855 Phoenix Iron Works Iron placard, an Improved Order of Red Men Grave marker, a painted homemade wood eagle and USA shield sign, and a Montana "Try Ten Litening Gasoline Made In The West For Use In The West" 10 Gallon Hat Sticker. Litening Gasoline was the main brand of Yale Oil Corp., starting in Miles City, Montana in 1928, expanded to Billings, Montana until the 1940s. The Improved Order of Red Men is a fraternal organization descended from the Sons of Liberty, circa 1765, that worked "underground" to establish help establish freedom and liberty in the early Colonies. They patterned themselves after the great Iroquois Confederacy and its democratic governing body. Founded in 1790 to produce nails and purchased in 1812, The Phoenix Iron Works (1813-1855) was a manufacturer of iron and related products during the 19th century and early 20th century. Phoenix Iron Company was a major producer of Griffen Gun cannons for the Union Army during the Civil War and also produced the Phoenix column, an advance in construction material. Metal signs are in varying conditions of wear, deep patina throughout each sign. sticker has clean and bright colours, wood sign has painted blue background with a painted gold eagle, USA letters in black. Wood sign measures 17"W x 17.5"L, grave marker is 7.5"W x 12"L, P & G sign is 4"W x 6.5"L, 6"W x 11.5"L, Phoenix sign is 8"W x 8.75"L, sticker in sleeve is 3.75"W x 5.75"L; sizes are approximates.
