Featured in this lot is this vintage tanzanite VS diamond 18k yellow gold ring with GAL paperwork. The ring features a wonderfully and professionally crafted 18k yellow gold construction that is set in a vintage setting with inlaid enamel lacing around the center stone and a 'Oscar Friedman' hallmark with a '18k' gold stamp next to the hallmark. The center stone is a cushion modified brilliant cut tanzanite gemstone with measurements of 8.50 x 8.50 x 5.28mm and shows blue coloration with moderate saturation and is transparent with a total weight of 2.85 carats. The ring is decorated with a total of 88 round brilliant cut diamonds that shows a color gradient of G - H and a clarity of VS - SI and a weight of 1.13 carats. Tanzanite Is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company who named the stone Tanzanite. Tanzanite is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with GAL(Gemological Appraisal Laboratory of America, Inc., a GIA certified lab GAL Appraisal Number#: GAL202214691) report and appraisal confirming the above information and giving a total value of $18,200.00.
