This is a great condition original set of Variable-Density WW2 Polaroid Pilot Gunner Goggles. These would have been used by gunners and would increase the ability to see their tracer rounds (also used by pilots during the Atomic Bomb Drop). These are marked "1945 US" and comes with the goggles, two Polaroid Tracer Visor XRIS 74-K-31, original metal box, and instruction sheet for care and maintenance. These are rare goggles in very good condition. Used by the B-17 Flying Fortress Bombers and more. Wearer could change the polarized density by twisting the knob in between the eyes. Stock No. 74-G-79-40 Made by AO American Optical Co. in the U.S.A. The metal box measures approximately 6 1/8" x 3 1/4" x 4".
