Featured in this lot is this CDV or Carte de Viste advertisement for Virginia Brights Cigarettes of a female and her high wheel bicycle circa 1870 to 1880's; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. This CDV is wonderfully and professionally crafted and shows a cropped photo of a female stepping onto a high wheel with a bicycle outfit of the day primarily worn by men. These advertisements are housed in The Metropolitan Museum; targeting female consumers this cigarette company used other primarily male activities for strings of advertisements in the late 189th century. The CDV is marked with its advertisement on the front and reads as follows: Virginia Brights Cigarettes. - Allen & Cinter - Raymond, VA. The condition of this CDV advertisement is well preserved with some fading to the photograph and some wear to the card consistent with age and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this CDV is 2 5/8" x 1 1/2". HW18
