Featured in this lot is this ledger book containing records of fermented liquors from Virginia City, Montana circa 1883. This book was used when Montana was still a territory as Montana did not become a state until 1889. This book shows records of fermented liquors that were sold in Virginia, City Montana such as ale, porter, lager beer and other fermented liquors. The ledger book is paper back and shows a marbled design with colors of yellow, green and black. The front of the ledger book reads, "Brewer's Record of Fermented Liquors Made, Sold, & c. No. 104, Revised / Official Form Prescribed by the Commissioner of Internal Revenue / Published and for Sale by E. C. Leckey / Internal Revenue Publisher and Printer 199 William Street, N.Y.". The ledger book shows fair condition overall with wear present to the cover and interior pages. Rips and tears are present throughout but interior pages are still in readable condition. The ledger book measures 18 3/8" L x 12 1/2" W and weighs 15 ounces.
