Featured in this lot are two numbered, limited edition Native American prints done by William Dunnam circa 1980. The first print is titled, "Rocky Bear" and shows Rocky Bear, a Oglala tribe member, sitting in a chair looking off into the distance with a stoic look on his face. Rocky Bear is mainly known for his work with the Buffalo Bill Wild West Shows. Only little is known of his life as a young man. In 1866 he participated in the Fetterman Fight and in 1876 he was at the Greasy Grass (Little Bighorn River). He is wearing a traditional headdress and holding a pipe in right hand and a feather fan in his left. It is signed in pencil at the bottom reading, "William Dunnam "Rocky Bear" 193/1500 / © Copyright 1980 Lifestyle Publishing, Inc.". This limited edition print is numbered 193 out of 1,500. The second print is titled, "Red Shirt" and shows Red Shirt, an Oglala Lakota Chief, warrior and statesman, posing for a photo with a stoic look on his face. He is wearing a bone pipe necklace and a large feather headdress. The bottom is written in pencil reading, "William Dunnam "Red Shirt" 190/1500 / © Copyright 1980 Lifestyle Publishing, Inc.". This print is numbered 190 out of 1,500. Both are set in plastic and have a cardboard backing to preserve their condition. They show good condition overall with slight wear present from their age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage is noted. They measure 17 3/4" L x 11 5/8" W and have a collective weight of 6 ounces.
