Featured in this lot is a Vintage Waltham Model 1908 Vanguard Railroad Pocket Watch, circa 1950s. The watch features a wonderfully and professionally crafted openface configuration and nickel finish on the movement with bridge plate and 23 jewels with a model total production of 50,064 and shows a movement serial number of 34502239. Estimated production date 1953.10k gold-filled The Waltham Vanguard is an iconic premier, highly durable American railroad-grade pocket watch. Designed to meet strict railroad requirements, featuring clear Arabic numerals, open-face cases, and lever-set mechanisms to prevent accidental time changes, it is known for its extreme precision and high-grade movement. Manufactured by the American Waltham Watch Company in Massachusetts, it was designed specifically to meet the rigorous safety and timekeeping standards of the railroad industry during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The condition of this Waltham pocket watch is well preserved, bezel is chipped at the 3:00 setting, no other marring observed, comes with braided leather carrying strap. Measures 2"W x 2.25"L, combined weight is 97.8 grams.
