Included in this lot is a Western Americana Art Book Collection. The American West, it's history and stunning beauty has captivated artists since George Catlin and Karl Bodmer traveled on expeditions to record the daily life of Native American tribes and the untamed wilderness in the early 19th century. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Frederic Remington and Charlie Russell featured art of bronco busters, cavalry scenes, and buffalo hunts. Books include "and Where Goes the Parade", 1977, leather bound, a collection of thoughts, feelings, and memories by the Texas artist Ancel Nunn featuring his signature "super-realism" style that captures rural Texas landscapes with a surreal, timeless quality. Signed by the artist on the half-title page along with a sketch. The second book, "West of Camelot: The Historical Paintings of Kenneth Riley" by Susan Hallsten McGarry, 1993, signed special leather bound and slipcase edition, features 113 color plates of Western art, highlighting Riley's career as he moved from commercial illustration to portraying pre-reservation Native American culture and Western life. This Special Edition book is signed on the half-title page by both the artist and the author. The third signed book is "Pitchfork Country: The Photography of Bob Moorhouse", 2000, showcases the work of Bob Moorhouse, a working cowboy and ranch manager at the Pitchfork Ranch in Texas, featuring his photographs of authentic ranch life. Co-authored or edited by Jim Pfluger, the book captures traditional Western subjects with a focus on light, documenting a bygone era of ranching. The book provides an authentic, almost mystical photos of ranch life, cowboys, and the landscape of the Pitchfork Ranch. Considered a standard for documenting ranching in the late 20th century, alongside historical photographers like Erwin E. Smith. Lastly, is "Glenna Goodacre: Sculpture" by Glenna Goodacre. This 2009 hardcover book by the artist herself, featuring photographs and anecdotes about her bronze sculptures, including major works like the Vietnam Women's Memorial and the Sacagawea dollar. It serves as a photographic survey of her career, detailing the inspiration and creation process for her well-known and lesser-known pieces. Key highlights include the Vietnam Women's Memorial, the Sacagawea Dollar, the Irish Memorial, and portrait commissions. All of the books are in like new condition.
