For your consideration, this lot includes the Limited Edition Signed Lithograph, "Whistlers" by Ron Jenkins, #244/300, which includes the 1980-81 Montana Bird Art Stamp issued by the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife And Parks. Titled in pencil 'Whistler's' lower left; signed 'Ron Jenkins' lower right; and numbered '244/300' lower center. The less numerous of the two goldeneyes species, Barrow's Goldeneyes are found mainly in wild country of northwestern North America, with small populations in eastern Canada and Iceland. Montana native Ron Jenkins is known for wildlife, fishing scene and marine painting illlustration. He works very fast, and birds are his favorite subject, though he will tackle any subject. Comparatively speaking, he spent little time on the 1964 painting of canvasbacks that won the 1965/66 Federal Duck Stamp Competition. Jenkins has illustrated a number of stories for the Pennsylvania Angler and the Pennsylvania Game News. His work has also appeared in the Modern Game Breeding magazine and the National Geographic magazine. His 'Whistlers' or Barrow's Goldeneyes won the third annual Montana Bird Stamp Design contest in 1980. He produced the piece in two medium which was that of a hand colored stone lithograph edition and a reproduction edition. Many of Ron Jenkins’ work can be found in many art galleries all over the world, with several of the galleries selling ready to mount framed Ron Jenkins art. His works are admired both other artists and corporate and private collectors, and they can be found in many institutions. Ron Jenkins was selected as the 1993 First of State for the Rhode Island Trout Conservation Stamp with his work of a trout during a Rhode Island caddis hatch.
