The lot features a tomahawk with weeping heart cutout attributed to the use as a prop in Wild West Shows. The piece was sold by Reata Pass Auctions in a collection of Miller Brothers 101 Ranch Wild West Show artifacts, including a bi-point stone head war club, stretched rawhide drum, and rawhide rattle. The example shows a tomahawk with a tear drop eye having flat blade holding a weeping heart cutout. The tomahawk head shows some lap folds, indicating that it was forged, and the eyelet hole shows a weld at the connection—it is uncertain if this is a repair or original. The tomahawk shows a hardwood typical haft with tear drop shape slightly tapering towards the gripping area. The head has been cleaned and seasoned, showing a bright metal finish. The tomahawk measures overall 18”L with a head that is 6 7/8” L and a blade that is 2 5/8”L across the edge.
