Featured in this lot is this original, William Franklin Draper oil on canvas painting done in the late 1930s / early 1940s. William Franklin Draper (1912–2003) was an American painter best known for his portraits of significant political, military, and cultural leaders, including Presidents John F. Kennedy and Nixon. Born in Massachusetts, Draper attended Harvard and then the National Academy of Design before becoming a combat artist in World War II, when he chronicled the Pacific theater. Following the war, he became a popular society portraitist, combining conventional realism with a vivid, modern sensibility. This untitled oil on canvas shows a nude woman standing and posing for the painting. She has brown hair and holds one hand on her hip and the other on her inner thigh. The painting is signed in the bottom left hand corner reading, " Wm. F. Draper". It shows good condition overall with little to no wear present on the painting.
