The Mod. 94 became one of the most popular, and successful hunting rifles of all time, originally chambered to fire the .32-40 Winchester and the .38-55 Winchester. In 1895 Winchester went to a different steel composition for rifle manufacturing that could handle higher pressure rounds. This example utilizes a 20" round barrel, a fixed semi-buckhorn rear sight, paired with a blade front sight, and a mellow blue'd finish, contrasted by beautiful walnut fixtures. The rifle is marked with the correct roll-stamping, reading; "MODEL 1894 - WINCHESTER - TRADE MARK" on the upper-tang, Serial Number "314528" on the bottom of the receiver, and "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. - NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED AUGUST 21 1894 - NICKEL STEEL BARREL - ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER - .25-35 - WCF" on the upper left of the barrel. Overall, the rifle shows fair aesthetic and mechanical condition, with an even patina forming on the blue finish, and heavy wear to the walnut fixtures. the action is tight, but the barrel shows heavy darkness.
