Featured in this lot we have a Winchester Model 1906 pump action rifle chambered in .22 short and long rifle. The Model ‘06 was a scaled down version of the popular full sized Model 1890 pump rifle and was produced from 1906 until 1935. It was intended as suitable for young boys and girls during the first half of the last century. Nearly all of the ‘06 Models had straight or “non-pistol grip” stocks and either smooth or grooved forends (pumps). The Model ‘06 was a takedown design in which the rifle could easily be broken into two parts by simply unscrewing the knurled screw on the left side of the receiver. Special canvas cases were available for the two halves to fit for attaching to bicycles. This rifle was manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co in 1924. The piece displays a 20" long round barrel, walnut stock and foregrip, worn finish, and under barrel magazine. The barrel is marked "Manufactured by Winchester Repeating Arms Co. New Haven , CONN. U.S. Patented June. 26. 88 Dec. 6. 92. Nov. 27. 06. May. 30. 1911. MOD 1906". with close to the receiver marked ".22 SHORT-LONG OR LONG RIFLE". The tang of the rifle is marked "Trade Mark Winchester REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN" . with the frame showing matching serial numbers. The rifle shows fair condition with wear across the piece due to age and the cap of the tube magazine missing. The rifle weighs 4lbs 8oz. Serial Number: 664850. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic firearm, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
