Featured in this lot is this Wings of Texaco 1931 Stearman Biplane 3rd series. The plane features a wonderfully and professionally crafted die cast metal construction that is fashioned into a coin bank that shows highly detailed decoration with landing gears and rotating propeller. Texaco Oil Company operated this 4D initially as Texaco 11 then later as Texaco 14 until its retirement in February, 1936. In later years it served as a crop duster as well as mosquito control for the TVA in Alabama. The Kansas Aviation Museum completed the Stearman 4D's restoration in early 2014. The wings and rest of the plane is marked as follows: Texaco - NC563Y - Texaco 14 - NC563Y - The Texas Company of Petrolum Products - Stearman. The condition of this model plane is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this model plane is 2 7/8" x 12" x 8 3/8". The collective weight of this model plane is 1lb 6oz. Both planes come in their original packaging and boxes.
