Featured in this lot are four, Winold Reiss Great Northern Railway calendar toppers from original Empire Builder calendars from the 1940s to 1950s. These were cut from the tops of the original Empire Builder calendars and show various different Native Americans. The first and second are from 1943 and show "Mountain Flower - Blackfeet Indian Maiden". Although the toppers show the same person, the toppers show a distinct and different style. The third is from 1948 and shows "Bird Sings Different - Blackfeet Indian Woman" and shows her sitting on the ground holding a medicine bag. The fourth and final topper shows "Buckskin Pinto Woman" sitting on the floor and looking to the left of the viewer. They show good to fair condition overall with wear present from their age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. Slight rips are present near the edges. One is set on poster board and shrink wrapped to preserve its condition. They measure from 17 3/8" L x 16" W to 22 3/8" L x 16" W and have a collective weight of 8 ounces.
