Featured in this lot we have a Remington Model 1917 Enfield bolt action rifle chambered in .30-06 and wrapped. This Enfield rifle, also called the United States Rifle, was manufactured between 1918 to 1919 and used for the first World War. It was sent to the U.S. Armory after the war were it was treated with cosmoline and wrapped to be shipped. This rifle arrived at Omaha Beach with Army Ambulance driver Victor G in June 1944 and served in the war till Victor was discharged in 1946. The Enfield traditionally features a bolt action with a hardwood stock and 26" long round barrel. The rifle is fully wrapped with a section cut out showing the top of the receiver marked "US Model of 1917 Remington 92543". The wrap shows good intact condition overall with some light wear across the exterior. The rifle comes with a short written history and x-rays taken of the piece. Serial Number: 92543.
