Featured in this lot we have an original authentic WWII German Nazi Luftwaffe officer's sword. The sword was manufactured by F&A Helbig as shown on the blade that is marked "F&A Helbig / Gaefler / Steinbach (KrM)" with some of the lettering having faded. The pommel shows the sunwheel swastika in brass with the outer edge stamped with oak leaves and acorns. The grip is covered in Moroccan leather wrapped with silver wire. The cross guard shows the iconic tripartite wing style with the sunwheel swastika on both sides. The scabbard shows the fine Moroccan leather wrap with nickel silver mounts. The WWII Luftwaffe sword and scabbard are in good condition overall with some light wear. The sword would have been carried by a commissioned Luftwaffe officer. Authentic examples are very rare.
