This is an early WWII Japanese Arisaka Rifle Type 30 Bayonet from the Kokura Arsenal. The Kokura Arsenal mark was used from 1935-1945. The Koishikawa Arsenal (Tokyo) showed the same marking and the pieces were made from 1870-1935. The bayonet shows a curled quillon (seen in rare prewar variations) with naval type cross guard and full metal scabbard/sheath with rounded tip. The scabbard shows its original canvas frog belt loop. The piece shows good condition overall, with some wear and light pitting. The bayonet measures 20" long, with the blade being 15 1/2" long.
