Featured in this lot is a World War II Cavalry saddle rifle scabbard for M1 Garand rifles, originating from the early to mid-20th century. The rifle scabbard is most likely from the First World War that was modified with the metal side plate to fit the Garand, just prior to the Second World War. The scabbard shows a brass action plate across the side. The scabbard is marked “U.S. J.O.M.D. 1942 J.B.". The piece shows good condition overall, with some wear due to age. The scabbard measures 30 1/4" long by 7 1/2" at the widest.
