Featured in this lot is this "Wizard" alarm clock manufactured by Yankee Wizard Clock Company in New York between 1908 and 1918. ?The Yankee Wizard Clock Company was active in the early 20th century, with records indicating operations around 1913. On October 14, 1913, the company, under Llewellyn S. P. Owen, registered the trademark "Clock Wizard." Additionally, the company patented an alarm clock design on December 23, 1913. This alarm clock featured a 4-inch dial encircled by a band of red numbers. This is the "Wizard" model and features an alarm system. The back features the time knob used for changing the time, a key to wind the clock, a key to wind the alarm system, soft and loud settings for the alarm, a repeat or steady option for the alarm and a slow fast setting for the second hand. It is marked on the back reading, "Patented / Feb 4, 1908 Dec 23, 1918 / Other Pats Pending / Made by the Yankee Wizard clock Co. / New York, U.S.A.". The clock face shows a white color with black colored numbering and reads, "Wizard" in the center of the clock face. It comes in its original box with instructions on how to set the alarm and its different settings. It shows good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of major damage noted. The clock measures 4" L x 5 1/2" W x 6 1/2" H, while the box it sits in measures 6 7/8" L x 5 7/8" W x 4 5/8" H. It weighs 2 pounds and 5 ounces.
