Included in this lot is an Original Signed Yellow Prickly Pear Cactus Watercolour, circa Late Modern. Artist's signature is visible on bottom right. Yellows, pinks, and greens harmonize and light up in this beautiful watercolor painting of a cactus blossom. Cactus can have the most beautiful flowers, some of them bloom for only a day. This lovely and delightful yellow prickly pear watercolour reflects a cactus species native to Texas and Mexico. It produces beautiful yellow flowers that bloom from March to May. The flowers are strikingly beautiful, with yellow petals that are arranged in a circular pattern. The petals are slightly ruffled, giving them a delicate appearance despite the cactus's tough exterior. The flowers are edible, used to make jams, jellies and other culinary treats. The flowers are also used in traditional medicine for anti-inflammatory and to treat skin conditions. This watercolour is in nice condition. The double matted wood frame exhibits scuffing on the edges, no other obvious marring noted. Visible art measures 10.5"W x 13.5"L, frame is 18.5"W x 22.5"L x .5"D
