Featured in this lot is this pair of pottery vessels from Bavarian artist Zeh Scherzer circa 1880-1918. There are two pottery vessels that feature porcelain construction and shows beautifully decorated side walling of the vessels with floral design and gilt rim and handle for the pitcher and to the handles of the sugar bowl. The sugar bowl features a beautiful floral decoration with pink flowers and is also decorating the lid. The firm was established in Rehau in 1880 by Johann Nicol Adam Zeh. His partners were Johann Michael Scherzer junior, Georg Adam Winterling, Johann Nicol Jacob junior, Johann Andreas Karl Wolfel and Johann Paulus Hertel. In 1908 the company opened own art department. In 1910 it was transformed into a limited company (Porzellanfabrik Zeh, Scherzer & Co. A.G.). It exported over 70 percent of production to United States. Quality of Zeh Scherzer products was compared to Rosenthal or Hutschenreuther. The condition of this pair of sugar bowl and pitcher is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of the sugar bowl is 4" x 5 3/4" x 4 1/2" and the pitcher measures 3 1/2" x 4" x 5 1/4".
