This is a circa 1960's vintage estate Zuni Native American sterling silver squash blossom with excellent inlaid mosaic design in Turquoise, Tortoise Shell and Mother of Pearl. The piece shows a necklace cable strung with double strand of sterling silver concho Indian pearls with ten blossom pendants and a larger naja squash pendant all in a similar classic vintage Zuni pattern, a pattern reminiscent of a chief with headdress and two feathers or a variation of the rising sun. The squahs blossom large necklace is set with turquoise, mother of pearl and very scarce Tortoise shell. The necklace is pre-1973 and follows all laws as such, dating to circa 1960's. The tortoise shell shows a dark brown with amber to creamy coloring throughout. Truly an excellent nice large piece that is in good condition for its vintage estate age. Measures overall 26 5/8"L with the squash pendant being 1.75" by 1.75". Total weight of 137.5 grams.
